Program Information: The program started during the lockdown portion of the COVID-19 pandemic. While watching the news about
toilet paper shortages, mask shortages, and supply chain issues, we wondered how the recovery community
was dealing with those issues and how we could help. Our answer is the Care Kit Program. Care Kits are DSAA string bags filled with hygiene products. Currently we deliver Care Kits to recovery houses in Lancaster County. Care Kits are also available to our Rec Cap clients and individuals in recovery.
Care Kit bags include: shampoo, shaving cream, bar soap, razors, toothbrushes, toothpaste, feminine care products, deodorant, dental floss, nail clippers, lotion, combs/brushes, washcloths, socks, cotton balls, Q-tips, pens, notebooks, bus passes, scarves, hats, gloves, and personal notes/cards of support.
Clothing Bank: The clothing bank is made possible by generous donations from the community. We accept adult clothing and accessories – belts, ties, hats, shoes, socks, purses, backpacks, and coats.
If you’d like to help, you can donate items at our office or purchase and send to us through Amazon.
Each Care Kit costs $25 to fill. You may sponsor a bag by making a donation in that amount.
